As an Austin family photographer my approach to family sessions is to capture your family in their element doing what you love best and to document this season of life authentically to you. When should we take family photos?
Anytime you want family portraits is a good time to have them taken! In regards to outdoor sessions I am partial to the spring and fall. Spring is beautiful with flowers, especially here in Austin! And fall is perfect for sessions with cooler weather and rich colors.
For families with younger children, especially under one year of age, I highly recommend The Milestone Collection to capture every nuance of change before baby's big birthday!
What SHould we Wear?
I recommend wearing an outfit that you feel most beautiful in and coordinating colors. C0lor palettes with a pop of one color or pattern tend to photograph the most aesthetically for families. My favorite stores for mommas are Doen, Hill House, Nordstrom, and Zara. I do offer wardrobe styling assistance and Mommas are welcome to borrow a dress from my Client Closet, an option that is included in all of my full length sessions.
